US launches large-scale blitz on ISIS networks across Syria

Footage published by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) on Saturday Jan 11, 2026 showing mission preparations at airbases in the Middle East as well as airstrikes against sites belonging to the Islamic State (ISIS) in Syria, the second round of strikes carried out under last month’s Operation Hawkeye Strike. The United States has launched a major military offensive dubbed Operation Hawkeye Strike, targeting ISIS networks across Syria, in response to the Iowa National Guardsman killed in ISIS attack on December 12, 2025, Sgt. Edgar Brian Torres-Tovar and Sgt. William Nathaniel Howard. The large-scale operation aims to dismantle terror infrastructure and curb the group’s operational capabilities amid ongoing regional instability.
