Footage released by the Spain Ministry of Defense shows Minister of Defence Margarita Robles Fernández speaking to the press amid the investigation in the aftermath of the deadly train derailment in Spain near Adamuz, in Cordoba province, on Sunday Jan 18, 2026. More than 220 Civil Guard officers, from units of Citizen Security, Traffic Group, GRS and the Air Service, continue working on the operation following the railway accident that occurred in Adamuz, Córdoba. The Central Forensic Team is working on the victim identification tasks. At least 21 people have been killed after a high-speed train derailed and crashed into an oncoming train, pushing it off the tracks, in Spain on Sunday.
