Aviation footage shows an ATR 42-500 aircraft veering off the runway while landing at Simberi Airport, Papua New Guinea, on Thursday, Jan 15, 2026 The aircraft was operated by Hevilift Aviation on a charter flight from Port Moresby to Simberi, carrying 11 passengers and three crew, the operator said. All occupants disembarked safely, and no injuries were reported. Hevilift Aviation said the aircraft sustained some damage.
